Dr. Meng Li is a tenure associate professor and doctoral supervisor in Department of civil engineering, Tsinghua University, and a winner of outstanding young scientists funded by NSFC. He received his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering of Tsinghua University in 2001, his master’s degrees in science and engineering from University of California, Berkeley in 2004, and his Ph.D. from Nagoya University in 2010. Having studied and worked in America for ten years, he was recruited as an associate professor by Tsinghua University in 2010 and returned back to China. Currently, he is the assistant dean of the Department of Civil Engineering in Tsinghua University, the deputy director of the Institute of Transportation Engineering and Geospatial Information. He is also the executive director of the Tsinghua-Daimler Sustainable Transportation Research Center, and the Deputy director (temporary) of Division of International Coorperation and Exchange, Tsinghua University. He mainly researches on intelligent, automated transportation system and traffic big data. He has published more than 100 academic papers, 40 of which are in leading academic journals indexed by SCI. Dr. Li has won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of Science and Technology Progress awarded by the Ministry of Public Security, China, and the first prize of Anhui Science and Technology Progress Award, etc. He is also the associate editor of Asian-Pacific Journal of Operational Research, and in the editorial board of Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems.
