  •        On the afternoon of December 4, 2019, THU-LEAD invited Professor Martin Savelsberg, the editor in chief of Transportation Science, to make academic exchanges. The meeting was held in Room B239 of Li Shau Kee Science and Technology Building, chaired by Professor He Fang, attended by Assistant Researcher Lin Xi and some students of THU-LEAD. Professor Zhao Lei from the Department of Industrial Engineering of Tsinghua University was also invited to attend the meeting. Two students from the Department of Industrial Engineering also attended the meeting. First of all, Professor He Fang, on behalf of THU-LEAD, introduced the main research contents of the research group to Professor Martin Savelsberg and Professor Zhao Lei. The latest research of THU-LEAD “A rhythmic control framework for connected and automated vehicles on one-way grid networks” was introduced in detail. Later, Dr. Zhang Zhengchao introduced the research achievements and progress in data mining and deep learning. Professor Martin affirmed the research of THU-LEAD in terms of automatic driving and traffic big data. At the same time, he showed great interest in the idea of rhythmic control. Full and detailed discussion were conducted in the process of Prof. He's introduction. In the last session, the students also asked some questions they were interested in, which were answered kindly and closely by Professor Martin based on his own work and research experience.

    Biography of Martin Savelsbergh:
